S2/E 1: Ingrid Silva, First Dancer at Dance Theater of Harlem

Today I am honoured to welcome Ingrid Silva onto the Bizzimumzi podcast.

Just a mer 13 years ago Ingrid Silva moved from the humble outskirts of Rio De Janeiro to one of the most acclaimed ballet companies in the US. Ingrid is now the First Dancer of Dance Theater of Harlem, a ballet company which is worldwide renowned for prioritizing Afro-descendant dancers in their casting.  Using her voice and her stunning ballet moves, Ingrid has been a force advocating diversity and equality in the dance sector. Ingrid has graced the cover of Vogue Brasil with her little baby girl inside her tummy, is the Dior Vibe AMbassador, and she is the founder of EmpowerHer New York, an organization that seeks to empower women through education and she lastly because she is not Bizzi enough co-founded Blacks in Ballet an NGO that aims to give visibility to black dancers.
